I had to make a Target run yesterday to pick up some kibbles for the girls. new tweezers, and some detergent. Real boring stuff. Anyhoo, hubby and I get to the check out, and the cashier dude is sanitizing his hands with at least a half a cup of hand sanitizer. He tells us it will be just a second and commences to wipe the register down with Lysol. He gets hubby to hold the dog food for the scan and return it to the cart. The guy then picks up the detergent with two fingers and quickly scans it. He looks at the bagging area and then just sets the detergent down. He grabs the tweezers with the same two fingers, scans them, and then thrusts them at me (bagless) holding on to the edge indicating that I should just toss them in my purse and says "you don't need a bag for these." I'm pretty sure he was re-sanitizing himself and the area as we left. I held the receipt in my hand as we left in case there was any question about why I had a pair of tweezers in my purse. How can a person work at a place like Target and be that terrified of germs?!?!? Poor guy, he must be completely miserable. At least he doesn't work at a hospital, I guess.
I finished the Marion Keyes book Angels. It was a predictable summer/beach read. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. It was fairly fun.
In the meantime.....I really miss the beach....
